A Call Late One Night
Hello Friends and Family!
It has been another amazing
week here in the Georgia Macon Mission. It has been so incredible to see
individuals that we are teaching progress closer to getting on the covenant
path with their Heavenly Father. As I was reading over President Nelson's talk,
Keep on the Covenant Path!, he says, "Now, to each member of the
Church I say: Keep on the covenant path. Your commitment to follow the Savior
by making covenants with Him and then keeping those covenants will open the
door to every spiritual blessing and privilege available to men, women, and
children everywhere." I can share my testimony of the power of this
restored gospel, and the pure beauty of missionary work. Even at times, while
we live in a dark world, we need to always strive to remember the words and
promises from Doctrine and Covenants, "Learn of me, and listen to my
words; walk in the meekness of my Spirit, and you shall
have peace in me." I testify that as we strive to listen to the
words of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and as we always walk int eh
meekness of the Spirit, that we will always be able to find peace in Jesus
Christ.
I wanted to share an amazing
miracle Elder Swanson and I were humbled to see this week, from the hands of
our Heavenly Father. As we have been teaching Linnie (the sweet Buddhist lady I
mentioned a few weeks ago). We received a phone call from her late one
night, and she said, "Boys (she calls us her boys) my hubby Hans wants to
come to church this Sunday with me!" She was so excited, she could barely
contain herself. Then she said, "Boys, do you realize that this is the
first time he has ever attended Church in his whole life? This will be our
first time ever attending Church together!" You could hear the emotion
running through her voice, and hear the excitement just flooding into her. The
Spirit was incredibly strong, and Elder Swanson and I couldn't help but be
so grateful for our Father in Heaven and all that he has in store for us, and
for Linnie. ![]() |

At Church on Sunday, Linnie
came rolling in on her speedy wheelchair with Hans by her side. She was beaming
ear to ear and introduced him to basically everyone in the Ward. During
testimony time, she again went up front and bore her testimony (like she did
last month). She said, "I have felt something in this religion. It is
beyond enlightening. It has drawn my
hubby and I to come to church together for the first time in our lives."
The Spirit in the Chapel was nearly palpable, and it was such a sacred
experience for me, on my mission.
I have a strong testimony of
missionary work, and I couldn't love anything more (than my mother) than being
here on a mission. I truly love the people of the South and love how much they
love their Savior Jesus Christ. It has been incredible to learn so many things
from them, and to see their devotion to God radiate in all they do.
I testify that Jesus is the
Christ. I know that He Lived, Died, and Rose on the third day. I do know that
President Nelson is a Prophet of God, and that Joseph Smith was the Prophet of
the Restoration of the Fulness of Times.
In the words of the Great
Jehovah, "I am the first and the last; I am he who liveth,
I am he who was slain; I am your advocate with the
Father. Behold, your sins are forgiven you; you are clean before
me; therefore, lift up your heads and rejoice."
May we always strive to be on
the covenant path and look towards the future with rejoicing in our hearts.
Until Next Week-
Elder Robb
